"On Wednesday, we recommended that the Council : 
opens accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova,  
grants Georgia the status of a candidate country, 
opens EU accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina once the necessary degree of compliance with the membership criteria is achieved.
Ukraine has completed over 90% of the necessary steps set out last year. Ukrainians are deeply reforming their country and are prepared for accession.
Moldova has undertaken significant reform efforts, despite constant destabilisation efforts against its democracy.
Important reform steps still need to be taken to mirror the genuine aspirations of the majority of its citizens to join our Union.
The country has taken a number of positive political and legal steps. However unconstitutional laws adopted in the Republika Srpska entity are concerning. 
Enlargement is a unique opportunity both for the countries aspiring to join the European Union and for us.
