Kedaro Group, Gate Capital, Kedaro News – the journey from media to investment

Ekaterine Chigladze, co-founder of the international investment company Gate Capital, co-founder of the real estate company Kedaro Group, and founder of the international business media platform Kedaro News, is a leading expert in investments and real estate.

Her story is a powerful example of how challenges can shape a leader who is now redefining standards in Georgia’s investment and real estate industry.

Her goal is not merely to build businesses – but to create trusted platforms for people who seek to grow their capital and generate long-term value.

This vision gave birth to Kedaro Group, Kedaro News, and Gate Capital – three directions united by trust, strategy, and security.

Ekaterine, many may not know your story, which could serve as a source of motivation. How did your journey begin?

When my father passed away, I was only five years old. My mother raised us alone, moving from one rented apartment to another. Our first home was a semi-basement on Chakhrukhadze Street. In 2007, an investor came and purchased the entire yard. I remember telling my mother: “Let’s buy a place where the sun can shine through…”

Despite all the difficulties, she did everything to ensure I received a proper education. From an early age, I was curious, and she supported every interest I had – I tried countless hobbies: dance, chess, karate, archaeology, and many others.

My first profession was journalism, to which I dedicated six years. Then a new chapter began – the real estate industry.

Challenges, mistakes, and failures taught me the value of hard work and discipline, shaping who I am today.

Was Kedaro Group your first company?

No. My first company was the news agency Timer, which I co-founded with fellow journalists. However, since we lacked media management experience, we eventually had to sell it. After a long break, five years ago, I co-founded Kedaro Group with my partners.

Our goal was to create a service that would simplify people’s lives and help them make the best investment decisions. Today, Kedaro Group is more than just a real estate brand – it has become a trusted partner for many.

Your next project carries an international scope – Kedaro News.

Exactly. Kedaro News is the result of combining my journalistic experience with business vision. It is an international business media platform – a bridge connecting Georgia with the world, and a trusted analytical space for foreign investors.

For me, journalism was the best “voice” for society. Today, I provide that same voice for the business sector.

What can you tell us about Gate Capital? Is it your new challenge?

Gate Capital is an international investment company, currently in the process of formation and not yet officially introduced to the public. It represents the combined vision of myself and my partner – to make investments in Georgia more stable, secure, and aligned with international standards. It will serve as a bridge between global investors and the Georgian market.

I have invested immense effort in gaining professional knowledge and experience. This is a continuous process, and every day I strive to become more useful to people.

How do you manage such great responsibility?

I am fortunate to have reliable partners. Without their trust and support, I would not have achieved this much. Each of us focuses on what we do best, and that’s why the system works.

Although it has only been five years since we entered this industry with our own company, we have already overcome the risks of a new business and established a strong foundation. Today, I can confidently say – we are professionals, we succeeded, and we proved ourselves. Now we know how to build stable, long-term relationships.

Finally, when did you make your very first investment?

First, I must say that the best investment is the one you make in yourself – and I do this every single day. In recent years, there hasn’t been a day when I didn’t ask myself: “What new thing did I learn today?”

As for financial investments, my first was two years ago, when I bought a land plot in Birtvisi. Later came an apartment in a construction project, and today, together with a partner, I manage various transactions.

Beyond that, I also manage two online platforms, into which we have invested significant resources. Nothing has ever been easy – the key is to change your mindset, reshape your relationship with money, and gain proper knowledge, no matter how much time it takes.
