Statistics: How Many Hotels Served 6.2 Million Guests in Georgia

The National Statistics Office of Georgia has published a new report on the activities of hotels and hotel-type enterprises, summarising data for 2025.

According to GeoStat, 62.7% of all guests were foreigners. The largest group among them were citizens of Israel – 555,400 guests, accounting for 14.3% of the total number of foreign guests and representing a 1% increase compared with 2024.

EU citizens accounted for 10.4% of all foreign guests.

In 2025, foreign guests stayed in Georgian hotels primarily for holiday and recreation purposes – 92%. Business and professional travel accounted for 4.5%, medical treatment for 0.7%, and other purposes for 2.8%. Among foreign guests staying in hotels for holiday and recreation, the largest shares were citizens of Israel (14.7%) and Russia (12.9%).

In 2025, 2,783 hotels and hotel-type enterprises operated in Georgia, which is 4.5% more than in 2024.
In 2025, the largest shares of hotels and hotel-type enterprises in Georgia were located in Adjara A/R (21.3%) and Tbilisi (20.9%).

Of this, the living area of hotel rooms amounted to approximately 1.76 million square metres – 8.9% more than in 2024.

In 2025, 65.5% of hotels and hotel-type enterprises operating in Georgia were registered as individual entrepreneurs, 33.3% as limited liability companies, 0.5% as joint-stock companies, while 0.6% had other organisational and legal forms.

A total of 99.8% of hotels and hotel-type enterprises were privately owned, while 0.2% were state-owned.
