Which professions attract the greatest interest in today’s reality? is always a relevant question. Various studies indicate that, despite the emergence of new professions driven by technological change, interest in the real estate and construction sectors remains high.
A particularly interesting study on in-demand careers was presented by Resume.io, a popular online platform and app that helps job seekers create professional resumes, CVs, and cover letters using customizable templates, AI-powered writing assistance, and expert content. Career experts analyzed data from 170 countries by examining search-engine queries in order to identify the most popular “dream” careers in different countries.
The study description notes that Pilot is the world’s dream job, with over 1.3 million global annual searches. In the list, “real estate agent” ranks second.
Each country was assessed using the search template, “How to become a [job title]” or “How to be a [job title]”. the world’s most frequently searched dream jobs for 2025 are the following top ten: 1) Pilot, 2) Real Estate Agent, 3) Software Engineer, 4) Notary, 5) Cabin Crew, 6) Travel Agent, 7) Data Scientist, 8) Judge, 9) Therapist, 10) Detective.
“Those who work in real estate have the job that most people wish they had, given our research finds it as the second most coveted career in the world” – says the research. According to them the average estate agent in the U.K. earns approximately £25,000, although salaries can vary depending on commission from selling more lucrative properties.
Interest in the profession has surged in recent years, particularly due to the popularity of real estate shows like Netflix’s Selling Sunset, which highlights the glamorous side of luxury real estate. Since the show’s debut in 2019, its influence has sparked an even greater demand in careers for real estate.
Real estate jobs are the most dreamed-about for Americans, receiving almost 600,000 searches across the U.S. in the last year. The Forbes publication notes that the annual income of a real estate agent in the U.S. is $150,000.
The study also states that the profession of real estate agent ranks first in Canada, Denmark, Greenland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore.
In general, demand for different professions is shaped by many factors, including a country’s culture, internal regulations, income levels, childhood impressions and emotions, and, of course, trends driven by continuous technological progress.
It should be noted that technological progress has created many new types of work; however, direct delivery of services by people does not lose relevance—on the contrary, as the population grows, frontline jobs become even more in demand. This is clearly reflected in the World Economic Forum’s forecast: its research on the most popular/in-demand professions for 2025–2030 indicates that, over these five years, roles requiring direct communication with clients/consumers are expected to grow in absolute volume. The top five include farming, distribution, construction, sales, and the food industry.
Georgia is not shown on the map attached to the Resume.io study; however, if we look at the professions chosen by university entrants in recent years, law and business administration still rank first. At the same time, global research clearly shows that the real estate sector is among the most desired and profitable fields in the modern labor market.
